and One Person at a Time!

Can you imagine a straight-line of diapers stretching from US Airways in downtown Phoenix all the way to Casa Grande. Since 1999, more than 443,000 diapers – or nearly 50 miles of diapers - have been collected to benefit the moms and babies at Homeward Bound. Combined with more than $310,000 of emergency fund cash donations during the same time, the Baby Diaper Drive, now enters its 10th remarkable year.
What started out as part of Allegra Print & Imaging’s ongoing commitment to supporting the community it serves has blossomed into an annual community Holiday Baby Diaper Drive with nine additional corporate sponsors. Created to fill the gap of emergency supplies and cash, the annual Baby Diaper Drive helps families served by Homeward Bound, a non-profit transitional housing program for homeless and domestic violence families with children in metropolitan Phoenix.
The Baby Diaper Drive has united business and community in a grass-roots effort that has caught plenty of media attention. In fact, as founder of the event, Eileen Rogers has been re-branded as the “Diaper Lady.” Both raising arizona kids and FOX10 TV have recognized the importance and impact of helping a new baby or family in need.
Recognized as the largest provider of transitional housing in Arizona, Homeward Bound assists families achieve economic independence, secure long-term, safe, decent, affordable housing and break multi-generational cycles of homelessness and domestic violence. But they can’t do it all, and they can’t do it alone.
Unfortunately, most families served are challenged to cover the essentials of diapers, wipes, baby formula and much more. Our staff, clients, families and friends have worked together each year to make an impact – and we’d like you to join us and make a difference as we give a hand up and not a hand out to families at Homeward Bound.
A few easy ways to get involved are:
Host a Baby Drive Event – Leverage your network and friends at work, school, church or community association. Request diapers and donations be brought to holiday parties and events. We will pick up your collected items or you may drop them off at one of our partner locations all over the Valley.
