Business Mail Processing
At Allegra we understand that with all of your responsibilities, you do not have time to become a mailing expert. That's why we have certified USPS experts on staff. We can easily guide you through the process of preparing your mailing to receive postal discounts.
National Change of Address (NCOA) - We understand that a direct mail campaign can't possibly work if the direct marketing piece does not arrive at the intended recipient's address. That's why every mailing we do is checked against the National Change-of-Address database. This address verification process will compare each person in your database with the USPS Change-of-Address Records. If someone has reported a Change-of-Address with the USPS, our system will recognize and update your database before it is mailed. Allegra will also provide you with the USPS Move-Update Report so you can correct your records. This process is required to receive the maximum postal discount for presorted mail.
CASS Certification – The CASS certification process is a required step in bulk mail processing. CASS certification is a term that is used to refer to a number of functions required by the USPS for bulk mailing. At Allegra, our process includes address matching, delivery point verification and the generation of an Intelligent Mail Barcode.
Intelligent Mail Barcode – An Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) allows marketers to embed information into a barcode that can be automatically read by postal service scanners. The basic purpose of the IMB is to help route mail to the intended recipient. There are also a number of additional services that can also be embedded into the IMB. These services include a variety of functions, from simple delivery reports that note the date mailings are delivered, to more complex services such as triggering an email to the recipient alerting them to check their mailbox.
