The United States Postal Service offers significant postage discounts for accurately prepared mailings. To receive these discounts, mailings must be in compliance with a very strict (and frequently confusing!) set of regulations. National Change Of Address (NCOA) - At Allegra we understand that the best direct mail piece is worthless if it doesn't reach the intended recipient. That's why every mailing at Allegra is checked against the National Change of Address database. We compare each address in your mailing list to the national database as a step to Address Verification. If someone has reported a change of address with the USPS, our system will update the addressing on your direct marketing piece before it is ever mailed. Allegra also provides you with a Postal Move-Update Report so you can correct your records.

CASS Certification (Coding Accuracy Support System) - CASS certification is required in presorted (bulk) mail processing. CASS certification includes address matching, delivery point verification and the generation of an intelligent mail barcode.

Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) – Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) allows marketers to embed a significant amount of information into a barcode that can be read by postal service scanners. The basic function of the IMB is to help route mail to the intended recipient. There are also a number of additional services that can be imbedded into the IMB. These services include simple reports that capture delivery dates as well as triggered emails that notify the recipient of the postal delivery.
